Ozaukee Talent Showcase to be Held in Random Lake, WI
Saturday August 7th 11am to 2pm at Christ Pond Retreat Center
[Grafton] [WI] [July 24, 2021] Ozaukee Talent welcomes you to an informal open house showcase of local talent on Saturday August 7 between 11 am and 2 pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Approximately 15 students (mostly youth) have volunteered to share their musical and acting talents at Christ Pond Retreat Center in Random Lake, WI with mostly family and friends. Christ Pond Retreat Center is an events facility located on 100 acres of preserved Wisconsin land. The address is N1599 State Hwy. 57 in Random Lake, WI. Visit christpond.org for more information.
“The reason why I don’t use the word ‘recital’ is because a lot of people have preconceived ideas on what a recital is and the images that come to mind can tend to be negative. I don’t believe in forcing anyone to perform who doesn’t want to. I have seen that this can do more harm than good especially in a young child. Families and guests are also free to come and go as they please. The performance environment is comfortable and casual —Angie Mack, Ozaukee Talent founder and Musical Producer
Outdoor special guest performer will be longtime radio host Ben Merens.

Ben Merens is a storyteller and public speaker with a passion for listening. He is a veteran broadcaster and spent 21 years as a talk show host at Wisconsin Public Radio.
Today Ben provides stories for organizations and trains people in the art & science of effective, emotive storytelling. He is the author of “People Are Dying To Be Heard” and “Uni-Tasking: 25 Tips For Better Listening.” Ben is trained as a journalist and media professional. He has taught a variety of communications classes at colleges and universities in New York, Chicago and throughout Wisconsin. For fun, Ben is an improvisational, acoustic guitar troubadour.
Ozaukee Talent was founded by Mack in February of 2016 after a bout with very early stage breast cancer and a two year medical leave from her usual teaching and directing duties through the North Shore Academy of the Arts (NSAA). She is known by many families in Ozaukee County as a musical theater director who has been involved with producing and directing over 100 shows during the past 20 years.
Mack is also internationally known as a music educator, researcher and historian. She has worked with many famous writers and playwrights, musicians, actors, producers and film directors from all over the world. She introduced the music history concept for Grafton’s downtown Paramount Plaza and has served as the Chairperson for the International Walk of Fame Committee since 2006.
