Suzuki Method Violin Lessons with Jensen Stanton

Jensen Stanton is a passionate artist and musician. He studies at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, where he is extremely active in the music and performing arts.

A violinist of more than 12 years, he was trained at the Barcel Suzuki String Academy and was a member of their advanced performing group “Brioso” for four years. With Brioso, he has performed in places like Wisconsin Dells, WI, and the Columbus Suzuki Institute in Columbus, OH. For two summers, he attended the American Suzuki Institute at UW-Stevens Point. At the University of St. Thomas, he plays with the St. Thomas String Orchestra and was featured in the nationally televised broadcast “A St. Thomas Christmas: So Bright the Star.” Additionally, he plays viola in a student string quartet and is a member of the St. Thomas Liturgical Music Ensemble. He also has played with the Minnesota Opera in their youth opera production of “Odysseus.”

As a vocalist, Jensen was a member of the Marquette University High School Chorus for four years and a member of the Select Chorus for three years, both under the direction of Mrs. Susan Sajdak. He was featured in many performances as a soloist and was a designated section leader.

A pianist of more than 13 years, he has played as an accompanist for various recitals and competitions. He continues to play, primarily as an accompanist and liturgical musician.

Jensen got his start as an actor and performer at NSAA in the Stagekids Jr. program with shows like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Emperor’s New Clothes, and Aladdin. In his high school career, he has been featured as Rapunzel’s Prince in Into the Woods at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, Mayor Shinn in The Music Man and Beadle Bamford in Sweeney Todd, both at Marquette University High School. Additional credits include Hairspray (NSAA), The Importance of Being Earnest (Marquette University High School), 9 to 5 (Divine Savior Holy Angels), and Twelve Angry Jurors (Marquette University High School).

Since taking art classes with Paula DeStefanis for most of his elementary years, Jensen has loved the mission of NSAA and is excited to take part in that mission as an educator.
